Jurassic Park

Spielberg's Role: Director
US Release Date: 1993

Wow! What is there to say about Spielberg's Jurassic Park? Steven Spielberg felt some need deep down to see if he could break his own record at the box office (set by E.T.). I think he proved his point! One of the more amazing parts of this gigantic movie was that Spielberg was working on Schindler's List at the same time. The quality of both movies are unbelievable.

Jurassic Park is about Dinosaurs being brought back to life as part of a DNA experiment. The founder of the experiment (played by Richard Attenbdrough)was planning on making his finding into an amusement park. He brings two scientists (Played by Sam Niell and Laura Dern) and a mathematician (played by Jeff Goldblum) to look around and give their approval, but not everything about the island is going to cooperate.

The Dinosaurs in the movie were designed by Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) which is owned by George Lucas. Silicon Graphics won't let anyone forget that their machines were used in the modeling process. The software used was Microsoft's SoftImage. The story is based on a book by Michael Crichton who also wrote Congo and the sequel to Jurassic Park. The Music was composed by John Williams, who also wrote the music to Jaws and at least 11 other Spielberg Films.

The best script I could find was the Crichton's first draft.
